Eream is seen from the perspective of the two northern Eramic empires, the Chitlar- and Upaditian empires. They sit on the mountainous northern coasts where most of the food comes tzinsa outlets. Tzinsa outlets are outlets of the thick substance known by Eramic people as tzinsa. It is relatively nutrient-dense and can vary in colors ranging from blue to red or yellow, the taste is bland, something close to corn or potatoes depending on source. Wild animals and migratory human groups feed on the tzinsa that occasionally bubbles up to the surface while some states have formed around the extraction of tzinsa using mining technology. Several small towns have formed on the northern coasts around tzinsa outlets where mines are heavily used to extract tzinsa from the ground. Many of these towns pay seasonal taxes to the Chitlar or Upaditian emperors in the form of lifestock, tzinsa or other valuable goods.
The Eramic empires aren't exactly centralised empires and can more accurately be described as city-states with spheres of influence. The emperors of Eream live in large, ancient pyramids and get wealth from the labour by the serfs and taxes by vassal towns. When in need, convoys of armored chariots ride out to the vassal towns to extract tribute from local lords within designated spheres of influence.
Even though tzinsa mining has drastically increased the standard of living, the subsequent hierarchical states demand taxes from the mining class which made malnutrition or even starvation common. Many large animals have been forced to work in the dark mines, hauling wagons of rock or tzinsa, they suffer from malnutrition too. The brief monsoon periods bring "rainbow rain" for the Eramic inhabitants who build up rain-catchers and celebrate "Rain Festivals" during the late summer months. These Rain Festivals are the most popular Bonesian holiday.
Bonesiality is the dominant religion in the Eramic empires. It has managed to spread to the surrounding people despite the difficult communication between tzinsa outlets. Bonesiality is a very important pillar in Eramic states and form the framework for the power of Eramic emperors through the powerful priest class. The emperors are widely believed to be divine beings within Eramic society and absolute authority is not to be questioned.
